Precise process profile for a better overview
Schirmer Maschinen GmbH from Verl in East Westphalia is on a remarkable growth path. In the period between 2020 and 2023, at the height of the coronavirus restrictions at the time, the specialist for customized processing lines for window and door profiles was able to increase its workforce from 170 to 240. At the same time, production capacity was increased by opening two new plants.
The ERP system introduced in fall of 2020 has played a key role in continuing this successful development. Since then, the multi-project management system ams.erp, which is tailored to the special requirements of batch size 1+, has been managing the medium-sized company’s company-wide processes end-to-end. A not insignificant proportion of these processes were set up or comprehensively restructured as part of the software implementation – always on the basis of the industry-proven ERP standard. The managers around Managing Director Ludger Martinschledde are certain that their company would not have been able to increase its performance to the same extent without this organizational realignment and without the forward-looking qualities of the ERP system. They also know that the modern and open software platform offers potential for further digitalization measures.
