Business is booming for machine tool manufacturer MAE. Used to annual turnovers of around EUR 20Â million prior to 2010, within five years, its sales sky-rocketed to EUR 34Â million. To adapt its operational procedures to the greater volume of orders, this specialist for straightening and press technology introduced the order management system ams.erp. Since then, all of its departments and employees have been working on a shared database. They receive information on the status of complex customer orders and control the further processing tasks specific to those orders. The processes involved range from sales, mechanical design and electrical design, through scheduling, purchasing, stock management and limited in-house production, all the way to assembly, commissioning and service management.
