Managing director Günther Hecht views the expertise of his engineers as the most important factor in the thirty years of success enjoyed by his company to date. Hecht Technologie, a make-to-order manufacturer specialising in systems for bulk materials, has seen its sales double since 2010 from EUR 9 million to EUR 18 million. The number of employees has also risen from 60 to more than 80 during this period. However, growth at the company has also resulted in increased complexity for its project business. Although Hecht remained true to his original decision to focus exclusively on engineering and outsource manufacturing to partner companies, the ever-increasing number of orders that needed to be managed in parallel made it increasingly difficult to organise customer projects at short notice. To address this, the make-to-order manufacturer identified a need to standardise the exchange of order-related information between sales, project management, design and purchasing throughout the company.
